The private sector plays a key role in the development and prosperity of the UAE. It is
proactively following His Highness’s leadership and supporting the UAE’s creative expansion
into non-oil sectors.

The private sector is an important pillar supporting the UAE’s evolution
towards achieving several unique titles in the global economy, which include becoming:

The trade and transportation hub for the Middle East, North Africa and Indian
Subcontinent.
One of world’s leading year-round tourism destinations.
A knowledge economy supportive of world-class finance, ICT, education and health
sectors.

In light of the UAE’s strategic economic direction, key sectors have been selected to drive
the launch of ENDP. The sector evaluation process entailed grading various economic sectors
along a preset group of criteria.

Selected sectors are those that provide the best match between the skills/preferences of UAE
Nationals and the requirements/opportunities within each sector.

Criteria assessed include compensation, career development, technical skill requirements,
and local market expertise.

The selected sectors offer substantial employment and career success opportunities for the
given pool of UAE jobseekers in the UAE.

During the initial phase, ENDP will work closely with the selected sectors to encourage
placement and development of UAE Nationals.

In subsequent phases, ENDP will integrate other sectors such that the entire private sector
continues to play a key role in the development of UAE Nationals and the UAE.
